"Tommy, where has all the time gone? It seems like yesterday we were playing together as children at the famous summer picnics, or sharing conversation and a few drinks at Zintner's. I'm so sorry we lost touch in our later years. You were one of my favorite cousins! You were always a kind and decent person. You will be deeply missed. This isn't goodbye but merely so long. "Risbon family,
Tom was an amazing individual, his contributions to the security of this Nation will most certainly be long standing and carried forth by the men and women he mentored and led the way for. I would like you to know that all the time and effort he spent with us in the course of his day to day job providing for his family made a difference to more than what he brought home in the way of compensation. Over the years I have known Tom I have watched him take young men and women in the service and out of the service and provide guidance and directions from lessons we are all sure he learned the hard way. His personality was that of someone you could not help but want to be around.
When I think of the conversations we had together while on travel together or on the phone know that you all were always at the forefront of his thoughts. He was proud of his family and was not afraid to tell anyone that was willing to listen.
Those of us in Naval Special Warfare Tactical Communications Directorate loved the man. He went that extra mile that is often lost in people who crave fame, fortune and attention. Tom was always available to take a phone call and provide input on anything we asked of him. With the country being at War since 2001 his professional expertise was paramount in our ability to deploy and provide communications for young men and women doing the business of our nation.
Dedication and selflessness such as his are rare. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for letting us share his life. His absence will be sorely missed and the memories he left us with will always cause us to smile as we reminisce. Tom made all of us in NSW that worked with and new him want to be better people and we are all better for knowing him. In this time of need and support for your family I speak for all of us from the Naval Special Warfare Communications Community in saying you have our deepest sympathies and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

"Cathy & Family, Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad and difficult time. Our fondest
memories of Tommy (as a young boy) were watching his baseball
games, and (as a young man) taking Prom Pictures of he and
his brother, Johnny, and then
"honor of honors" being invited to attend his high school graduation! In later years, the times that we spent with Tommy and his family were "sparse" but none the less
"special". We were always proud that he served our country, and of the husband, father, grandfather, brother and the man that he became. He has
certainly left a fine legacy for
his boys!! God has chosen a
"special angel". We, here on earth, will miss you deeply!

"Tom was a staunch supporter to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community for many years and ensured that the Warfighter had the best tactical communications capability to go to war.
He led and oversaw numerous system configuration changes and upgrades, always offering the best advice for solutions to communications issues experienced on the battlefield.
He worked until the day he passed preparing the "way-ahead" to upgrade all of NSW's inventory of Radio Integration Systems which provided the primary means for NSW Operator communications.
I will always remember Tom as a Friend, co-worker, Professional - and someone I truly aspire to be.
My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Risbon Family." - Matthew Bruno - Posted: Thursday, March 4, 2010

"Tommie the T-Bone, If I knew I would never see you again, I would have introduced you to my guardian angels (save a spot for me in heaven next to all the other Risbons). I want you to know how very much I will miss you and that you are loved...I am sorry for not taking more time to see you, Cathy and the kids when you lived in PA, forgive me for working way too much! Thank you for being a part of my happy childhood (with 32 first cousins we always had someone to play with)and for being my best friend during the high school(you were the one who nick-named me Sue-bones because I was so skinny!), for allowing me to dance and sing (Risbon-Rhythm). If for one more instant God could give you back to us, I would embrace you strongly and say everything I felt but never had the chance to say. For now, I will sleep less and dream more and please know the Angels will be here to take care of the family....time to say goodbye, love Susan (Sue-Bones) Risbon." - Susan (Sue-bones) Risbon - Posted: Wednesday, March 3, 2010

"Cousin Tommy you were 1 month 2 days older than me and 48 days younger than cousin Susan Risbon. I can still remember the story of our father's carrying our baby bassinet's on their heads down to the river early the summer we were born for a picnic and fishing day out. The new mother's were frantic but all was well and made for a great story. I still don't know if we were in the bassinet's or not. Tommy I have happy memories growing up in our large family we spent so much time together. It seems like only yesterday it was summer on the farm where your family lived and we were running barefoot and carefree in the corn field. Well Cousin we are sad but you are carefree again..You have run the race.
Well Done...Love Cousin Shelly
May God Comfort your family during this very difficult time." - Michelle Maslanik-Risbon Wyles - Posted: Wednesday, March 3, 2010

"To All the Risbon family I send my condolences at the loss of your son, husband, father, and grandfather. Tom surely did help me during variouis phases of our relationship in the Special Operations world.
