  Services will be Saturday March 27, 2004 at 10AM in All Faith Episcopal Church, 38885 New Market Turner Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659 Burial will be Monday March 29, 2004 at 10AM in the MD Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

  Public Viewing will be Saturday March 27, 2004 from 9AM till 10AM in All Faith Episcopal Church, 38885 New Market Turner Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
  John Melvin "Melly" Ford, 66, of Charlotte Hall, MD, (formerly of Houston, TX) died March 21, 2004 in Washington Hospital Center. Born August 16, 1937 in Washington, D. C., he was the son of Mary Alberta Ford and the late John Preston Ford. He was the father of Wayne Ford of Denver, CO, John Ford of Louisiana, Sharon Taylor of Odenton, MD and Tonya Lowery of Hyattsville, MD. He was brother to Joe Mitchell Ford, Kenny Ford, Julius Ford, Emerson Ford, Marion Stewart, Hester Stewart, Vinia Ford and the late Irene Ford. He is also survived by four grandchildren. Mr. Ford graduated from Banneker High School in 1954 and served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1963. He was a counselor for United Cerebral Palsy. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 27, 2004 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in All Faith Episcopal Church in Charlotte Hall followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM with Reverend James Hunter officiating. Pall bearers for Mr. Ford will be William Briscoe, William Parker, Thomas Bush, Joseph Woodland, Keith Stewart and Thomas Stewart. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Briscoe. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 415 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201-4101.
